Gordon D. Thayer worked for ESSA in Boulder and served as a radar analyst for the Condon Committee. He wrote the report's radar analysis of field cases, including Case 2, the 1956 Lakenheath-Bentwaters incident. In 1969 he took up the 1953 Ellsworth AFB case as Case 15-B. His verdict there was stars seen through an inversion layer, at least one meteor, and radar echoes. For the 1957 USCGC Sebago sighting he studied the Key West radiosonde profile. He found wet and dry layers able to produce anomalous propagation. He also studied the radar evidence at Colorado Springs Airport in 1967.
