Fran Ridge is a NICAP researcher and archivist whose notes appear across several Cold War radar and airline cases. On the Goose Bay sightings of 1952, he pointed out that Blue Book records showed the radar and visual sightings as separate events, though Keyhoe had presented them as simultaneous. He corrected the date of the Ellsworth AFB case in South Dakota to 5 to 6 August and counted it among the best. In 2006 he wrote the NICAP report on Capital Airlines Flight 77. On the Edwards AFB incident of 1965, he said none of the Blue Book explanations held up against the audiotapes.
