March 1967. Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Robert Salas was 26, a first lieutenant serving as deputy crew commander under Capt. Frederick Meiwald at Oscar Flight. The security NCO reported lights. Salas thought it might be a joke, until the NCO called back, agitated and distraught. A guard had reported a glowing red oval hovering over the front gate. Shortly afterwards, the Minuteman missiles went to no-go. In 2001, as a former Strategic Air Command missile launch officer, Salas described the events at the Disclosure Project press conference in Washington, D.C. In 2023 he appeared at the Mexican Congress hearing on the Nazca bodies.
