He argued that shadows in the McMinnville photographs meant they were taken in the morning, and Hartmann was persuaded. He favoured Jupiter over Tehran in 1976. After Steve Pierce's 2026 post about the Travis Walton case, he named the tower as the Gentry fire lookout on Rim Road.
