A researcher and author, Robert Hastings wrote UFOs and Nukes. His interest runs through cases where UFOs meet nuclear weapons. In 2008 he spoke with Walter Figel, Echo's deputy commander at Malmstrom AFB. Figel told him that a guard had radioed about a large round object hovering over a launch facility as the missiles failed in 1967. Hastings translated the 2010 Life interviews on the Byelokoroviche missile base incident into English. On the Big Sur Atlas film he sided with Jacobs. In the Bennewitz affair he argued that the lies hid genuine UFO activity over nuclear sites.
