Joel Carpenter was a researcher who weighed in on several classic cases. For the Rogue River disc of 1949, he suggested a blimp in 2001, then dropped the idea after reading the report. He offered his own answer for the McMinnville photographs of 1950. An old truck mirror, hanging under the overhead wires. Writing for NICAP on the 1953 Lockheed sighting, he called Blue Book's identification untenable. He also obtained a Bell Labs Nike-X report that bore on the Big Sur Atlas missile film of 1964.
