NARCAP is a research organisation whose members have written technical studies of sightings reported by aircrews and pilots. In 2007 it published a report of about 155 pages on the O'Hare International Airport sighting, led by Richard F. Haines. The report made no claim of alien origin. Its concern was flight safety. In 2010 Martin Shough, writing for NARCAP, judged that the BOAC 'Flying Jellyfish' of 1954 might have been an unusual mirage. Haines returned in 2012 with a report on the El Bosque Air Show UFO. John R. English of NARCAP judged Stephen Pratt's Conisbrough photograph a highly probable hoax.
