Chile has an official body for unexplained aerial events. CEFAA, the Comité de Estudios de Fenómenos Aéreos Anómalos, sits within the civil aviation authority, the DGAC. In 2010 its analysts went frame by frame through footage from the El Bosque air show and left the case unsolved. In 2014 its director, Gen. Ricardo Bermúdez, reviewed photographs from the Collahuasi copper mine. He described a silver disc about 10 metres across. That same year the committee began a study of a Chilean Navy infrared video that ran about two years. Most of its experts called the object a UAP. Critics later proposed an airliner.
