John Napier

Person 5 stories, 1924 to 1986

A primatologist, and a sceptical voice that kept returning to the archive's cryptid cases. In 1968, at Sanderson's request, he investigated the Minnesota Iceman for the Smithsonian Institution. He found that Hansen had commissioned the figure from a West Coast company in 1967. He doubted Albert Ostman's 1924 Sasquatch story because the food resources were so limited, and he wrote that the Patterson-Gimlin film did not stand up well to functional analysis. Yet Anthony Wooldridge's 1986 Yeti photographs near Hemkund reportedly impressed him. He then called himself a Yeti devotee.
