A naturalist and writer, Ivan T. Sanderson turns up again and again on the trail of strange creatures and unexplained craft. September 19, 1952. He arrived in Flatwoods for the North American Newspaper Alliance and found a flattened circle about 15 feet across. He came away convinced the witnesses had experienced something real. In December 1959 he told the Jerry Crew story in True magazine, and Roger Patterson read it. In 1968, as science editor of Argosy, he was alerted to the Minnesota Iceman. He also retold the USAT Delarof sphere in Invisible Residents (1970).
