Bluff Creek, 1967. Roger Patterson captured a creature on film there, and the footage became the centre of the Sasquatch debate. Patterson had read Ivan T. Sanderson's December 1959 True magazine piece on Jerry Crew's footprints from the same creek. In 1966 he had described William Roe's female creature from 1955 and drawn a scene almost identical to what he later filmed. For sceptics, Darren Naish noted, Roe's account may have been the template. Decades later the film shared the screen with the Skookum Cast in the Discovery Channel documentary Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science, first aired on 9 January 2003.
