Heuvelmans

Bernard Heuvelmans was a Belgian-French zoologist, often called the founder of cryptozoology. His name runs through the archive's classic cases. He discussed the 1905 Valhalla sea serpent and took it for a marine mammal. He carried van Herwaarden's 1923 orang pendek account into English in On the Track of Unknown Animals, and he cautiously suggested an undiscovered gibbon. In 1958 he used the Menlung Glacier track to describe Dinanthropoides nivalis. Mid-December 1968. He and Sanderson spent three days studying the Minnesota Iceman through ice and glass. In February 1969 he described it as Homo pongoides.
