A journalist and author, Pablo Villarrubia Mauso went back to some of South America's strangest encounters. In 1997 and 1998 he worked with Cláudio Suenaga on the 1946 death of João Prestes Filho at Araçariguama. Together they found the surviving relatives and the death certificate itself. In 2005 he interviewed José Marcos again about the 1963 Sagrada Família Cyclops encounter in Belo Horizonte. He also told the story of the 1969 Anolaima encounter in Colombia in his book Las luces de la muerte. On the 1947 José Higgins case, he wondered whether the word "Alamo" echoed Los Alamos.
