A civilian research group with investigators in the field. The Aerial Phenomena Research Organization turns up across several major cases. On 22 February 1958, in Rio de Janeiro, its Brazilian representative Dr Olavo Fontes heard the deposition of Antônio Villas Boas and concluded he had mild radiation sickness. In the Trindade Island Photographs case, supporters at APRO and NICAP pointed to the lab findings, the witnesses and the development on board. In 1973, James Harder of APRO travelled to Mississippi with J. Allen Hynek. There they interviewed the Pascagoula witnesses separately under hypnosis.
