CICOANI was a civilian investigation centre in Belo Horizonte. Its founder and leader was Prof. Húlvio Brant Aleixo, a psychologist and reserve Brazilian Air Force aviator-officer. The group looked into some of Brazil's strangest encounters. 30 August 1962. CICOANI took the formal statement of Raimundo in the Duas Pontes disappearance of Rivalino Mafra da Silva. In 1965 Alberto Francisco do Carmo of CICOANI interviewed the boys from the Sagrada Família Cyclops encounter. In 1969 Aleixo questioned José Antônio da Silva after the Bebedouro abduction. His account reached English readers through Flying Saucer Review in 1973.
