In September 1964, at Glassboro, David Halperin was 16. On September 12 he measured a landing site there, recording a conical, scorched crater ringed by three tripod holes. He went on to become a writer, blogger and religious-studies scholar. His later work read famous cases for what they said about culture, the mind and faith. He called the 1969 José Antônio da Silva abduction essentially a religious experience. In the Tujunga Canyon Contacts he saw Holocaust imagery. He also traced Albert K. Bender's loss of interest in saucers to his 1954 romance with Betty Rose.
