Men in black is a term from UFO folklore for strangers who visit witnesses and warn them to stay quiet. The first book to describe them was Gray Barker's They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers, published in 1956 and built on the Albert K. Bender case. In 1975 pilot Carlos Antonio de los Santos Montiel said four tall, pale men in black limousines boxed him in and told him not to talk. Jenny Randles made the Solway Firth Spaceman photograph a key British case. Elsewhere the claims came later, with no contemporary record behind them.
