A writer and researcher who returns again and again as a sceptical voice, most often working alongside David Clarke. In UFO Down, the pair took on the Berwyn Mountain Incident of 1974. Their argument was that the nurse had seen poachers' lamps, and that the zigzagging lights were police torches. In 2011 Roberts joined Clarke and Peter Brookesmith to revisit PC Alan Godfrey's Todmorden encounter in Fortean Times. Two years later, in 2013, Clarke and Roberts offered a simpler answer to the Solway Firth Spaceman photograph. Their explanation is now the most widely accepted.
