Missing time is a term of the field for a gap in a witness's memory after an encounter. Hours or minutes are simply gone. It appears in the Betty and Barney Hill Abduction of 1961. In the Berkshire UFO Incident of 1969, a family came to in their car more than a mile away, with the grandmother, who never drove, at the wheel. Estimates of the gap run from two to three hours. In 1980 PC Alan Godfrey saw a brilliant white flash at Todmorden. Then he found himself further down the road, with 15 to 30 minutes unaccounted for.
