Charles Garreau was a French journalist and ufologist. He turned up in two cases in the archive. In 1954 he visited the farm at Prémanon in the Jura about a week after twelve-year-old Raymond Romand's encounter with the shining object he likened to a giant sugar lump. In 1967 his phone rang. On 11 May the air navigation engineer M. Bois asked him about traces near Genlis, after the military radar at Creil had picked up an unidentified echo. Garreau tied that echo to the ground trace at Marliens and dated the landing to 10 May, though other investigators put the discovery at 5 May.
