Bill Chalker is a Sydney researcher whose name runs through many of Australia's best-known cases. In 1975 he received the typed memorandum of Frederick William Birmingham's 1868 Parramatta encounter. He found no apparent anachronism, and in 2024 he examined pages in Birmingham's own hand. He obtained the Navy file on the 1954 Sea Fury incident in 1982. In December 1980 he went to Rosedale with Keith Basterfield and Gary Little, and they classed the landing a CE-II. He was also the main investigator of Peter Khoury's 1992 encounter. In 2005 he reported the DNA results in his book Hair of the Alien.
