Twin Falls

Place 3 stories, 1947

A town in Idaho's Magic Valley, Twin Falls sat at the centre of the 1947 flying disc wave. Around July 4, about 60 picnickers at Twin Falls Park watched 35 discs over 20 minutes. It was the largest number reported anywhere in the country at the time. Then came July 11. A 30.5-inch disc turned up in town, and the FBI and Army took a close look. It turned out to be the work of four teenagers. On August 13 the town came up again, in the A.C. Urie sighting at a trout farm in the Snake River Canyon, about 9 miles northwest.
