In the Pat Roach case, critic Randle traced the family's account to the adult's episode of sleep paralysis, followed by two years of talking it over with her children. He still treated her as sincere. In the Allagash Abductions, Jim Weiner had episodes like sleep paralysis after a serious head injury, and critics later cited them. In Sydney, 1992, John O'Neill of Australian Skeptics offered it as an explanation for Peter Khoury's experience. He also accepted that the experience was real to Khoury.
