PURSUE stands for the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters. Under it, the Pentagon began releasing US government UFO files in spring 2026. Release 01 came on May 8, 2026, with 162 files, among them the Gemini 7 transcript and mission control audio. The same release brought back Buzz Aldrin's Apollo 11 debriefing, filed as NASA-UAP-D4 among unresolved cases, and the Skylab 3 debriefing excerpts as NASA-UAP-D7. Release 02 followed on May 22. It included the 46-second infrared clip of the Lake Huron shootdown. Critics like Mick West called the release nothing really interesting.
