In 1965 a caller claiming to be a NORAD colonel phoned Rex Heflin the day his Santa Ana photographs were published. The Air Force later said no NORAD representative had contacted him. During the 1975 Loring AFB incursions, two NORAD regions refused a request for fighter cover. A NORAD message dated November 11 linked all five sites. February 11, 2023. NORAD radar, its filters widened, picked up the object later shot down over Lake Huron.
