A classified program from 1947. It hung microphones from balloon trains to listen for Soviet atomic tests. In 1994 the Air Force named it the most likely source of the Roswell debris, pointing to Flight 4, launched June 4 and never recovered. Its radar targets used foil, balsa sticks and purplish-pink tape with flower and heart symbols. Charles B. Moore was project engineer, which made him a key witness for the balloon explanation, though he stood firmly behind his own 1949 sighting at Arrey. In 2024, AARO's Historical Record Report again cited Mogul balloons near Roswell.
