A researcher with NICAP, Francis Ridge compiled and catalogued cases for the organisation's files. His name is on the report about July 2, 1954, when an F-94C Starfire from Griffiss Air Force Base crashed into the Walesville intersection and killed four people on the ground. He also catalogued the America West Flight 564 sighting of 1995. In 2007 he turned to the Falkville Metal Man case of 1973. His verdict was blunt. He called it assuredly a hoax, probably not by Police Chief Jeff Greenhaw himself, but a prank aimed at any passerby.
