People at Oloron-Sainte-Marie and Gaillac in southern France described exactly that. The French researcher Aimé Michel made those two towns his signature angel hair cases, and Jerome Clark included the phenomenon in his reference work on early UFO history. Two years later, in 1954, the day UFOs stopped play at Florence's stadium, two witnesses in Venice saw shining spindles trailing angel hair. The threads are long gone. The question remains.
