Mount Etna is the volcano on the island of Sicily, and it figures in two very different cases. July 4, 1978, about 10:30 pm, at the Monte Sona crater. Air Force sergeant Attilio Di Salvatore and three companions watched a glowing disc land behind a slope, and they described tall robed beings with golden hair. Forty years later, in December 2018, the volcano was erupting. An American drone watching it recorded an object that appeared to fly through the plume. AARO director Kosloski raised that case before the Senate on November 19, 2024, and the video was released the same day.
