A Zimbabwe-based researcher, Cynthia Hind later became MUFON's coordinator for Africa and edited UFO Afrinews. For decades she was the field's eyes on the continent. In 1975 she went to Loxton in person. She interviewed the witnesses there and found more of them. Her book UFOs: African Encounters (1982) gave chapters to the Fort Beaufort shooting and the Umvuma car-pacing case. In 1989 she counted 14 spelling mistakes in the Kalahari crash documents. Then came Ruwa, 1994. She began her inquiry at Ariel School on the 20th and wrote that she had no doubt the children described what they saw.
