A French report from 1999, and a recurring reference point in the archive. It drew on older cases as examples. One was the Tananarive mass sighting and blackout of 1954. Another was the Cussac close encounter of 1967, which the report cited through a 1978 reconstruction. Its reach went well beyond France. May 2026. UAP files released by the United States Department of War quoted the 1999 COMETA report on the Bariloche case, the 1995 sighting involving Aerolíneas Argentinas Flight AR 674.
