Budd Hopkins was an abduction researcher and author whose name runs through some of the best-known encounter cases. His studio stood across the street from George O'Barski's liquor store in Manhattan. In 1975 he investigated O'Barski's North Hudson Park landing with MUFON colleagues and came to suspect missing time. At Copley Woods he used hypnotic regression and wrote Intruders, published in 1987. It spent four weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. Later he investigated Linda Cortile's Brooklyn Bridge abduction and claimed 23 witnesses.
