A creature said to live in the waters of Loch Ness. It became the measure for lake monsters elsewhere. April 1960. Tim Dinsdale, a British aeronautical engineer, kept a six-day watch on the loch alone. On 21 April he filmed what looked like two long black shadows rising and falling in churning water. His film helped spur the founding of the Loch Ness Phenomena Investigation Bureau in March 1962. Later the press compared Chesapeake Bay's Chessie and the Lake Van Monster of Ünal Kozak's 1997 video to it.
