On 21 May 2018, the National Security Agency's FOIA/PA Office sent this letter to John Greenewald Jr. of The Black Vault under FOIA Case 104228. He had asked for the Intellipedia entry on the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP). NSA said a thorough search of Intellipedia files found no responsive records. It noted that Intellipedia pages are not coordinated Intelligence Community positions and explained how to appeal the adverse determination within 90 days.

The appropriate email address to submit an appeal is FOIARSC@nsa.gov. • It must be postmarked or delivered electronically no later than 90 calendar days from the date of this letter. Decisions appealed after 90 days will not be addressed. • Please include the case number provided above. • Please describe with sufficient detail why you believe the denial requested information was unwarranted. • NSA will endeavor to respond within 20 working days of receiving your appeal, absent any unusual circumstances.
