On 21 May 2018, the National Security Agency's FOIA/PA Office sent this letter to John Greenewald Jr. of The Black Vault under FOIA Case 104228. He had asked for the Intellipedia entry on the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP). NSA said a thorough search of Intellipedia files found no responsive records. It noted that Intellipedia pages are not coordinated Intelligence Community positions and explained how to appeal the adverse determination within 90 days.

MEADE, MARYLAND 20755-6000 JOHN GREENEWALD 27305 W LIVE OAK ROAD SUITE 1203 CASTAIC CA 91384 Dear Mr. Greenewald: FOIA Case: 104228 21 May 2018 This responds to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of 2 May 2018 for the Intellipedia entry on Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program and/ or Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications and/or Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) and/or Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications (AAWSA), which was received by this office on 3 May 2018. Your request has been assigned Case Number 104228. For the purpose of this request and based on the information you provided in your letter, you are considered an "all other" requester. As such, you are allowed 2 hours of search time and 100 pages of duplication at no cost to you. There are no assessable fees for this request. For your information, NSA provides a service of common concem for the Intelligence Community (IC) by serving as the executive agent for Intelink. As such, NSA provides technical services that enable users to access and share information with peers and stakeholders across the IC and DoD. Intellipedia pages are living documents that may be originated by any user organization, and any user organization may contribute to or edit pages after their origination. Intellipedia pages should not be considered the final, coordinated position of the IC on any particular subject. The views and opinions of authors do not necessarily state or reflect those of the U.S. Government. Your request has been processed under the provisions of the FOIA. A thorough search of Intellipedia files was conducted, but no records responsive to your request were located. The fact that we were unable to locate records responsive to your request may be considered by you as an adverse determination, and you are hereby advised of this Agency's appeal procedures. Any person notified of an adverse determination may file an appeal to the NSA/ CSS Freedom of Information Act Appeal Authority. If you decide to appeal, you should do so in the manner outlined below.
