This FBI file on the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) covers correspondence and internal memos from 1961 to 1964. It contains citizen inquiries about the group, NICAP's reports about Dr. Frank E. Stranges implying he had FBI ties, and a request from New Orleans about an employee joining. The Bureau notes it never investigated NICAP. It calls some of director Donald Keyhoe's writing irresponsible and decides the FBI's name should not be connected with the organization.

April 17. 1961 Territorial Bureau of Investigation Washington D.C. Dear Sir . I received this letter in the Mail some time ago and was at a loss who to do with it. As three are so many sub- vise organizations around do not want to give any information that may have a bad effect on our government. I am not a Communist by any means and have no desire to give information to them. I would like to hear if this is a legal organization as what. Also the Unidentified flying objects we saw will be glad to give to your office if you want it but I don't think it could have any value now. Your truly CORRESPONDENCE J. C. Sabie Dear Lake N. Db.
