This FBI file on the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) covers correspondence and internal memos from 1961 to 1964. It contains citizen inquiries about the group, NICAP's reports about Dr. Frank E. Stranges implying he had FBI ties, and a request from New Orleans about an employee joining. The Bureau notes it never investigated NICAP. It calls some of director Donald Keyhoe's writing irresponsible and decides the FBI's name should not be connected with the organization.

NOTE ON YELLOW: Bufiles contain no identifiable references to correspondent. The National Investigation Committee on Aerial Phenomena has corresponded with the Bureau since 1957, forwarding various material concerning flying saucers. No investigation of the organization has been conducted by the Bureau and, to date, no complaints have been received against the organization alleging violation of law over which this Bureau has jurisdiction.
