This Central Intelligence Agency memorandum, dated 21 February 1967, answers a speed letter of 30 January 1967 asking for analysis of UFO images on furnished photographic prints. The analysts note that copies, not originals, were examined, compare image sharpness and size between prints, and weigh a distant large object against a small nearby model. They conclude that authenticity cannot be decided from the prints, that an analysis of the original photograph would provide more information, and that several facts fit the model theory.

## SUBJECT: Answer to Request of Speed Letter dated 30 January 1967 c. Contract and density analysis of the images was not considered valid due to the inherent distortions caused by the copying process. d. The edge charpness of the UEO image in print two appears quite similar to the edge charpness of the pipe in the same print. c. It is required that the difference in these nine between prints two and five was caused by a chirp in camera to UFO distance. This difference was less in print five than in print two. The following two conditions are offered: (1) Considering a large UFO at a distance of approximately a quarter mile (1,000 feet) into a non-toroidary centre located n, the UFO would have had to travel a considerable distance (800 feet) in a flight line almost directly across the central position to produce such a change in large size. (2) Considering a small, stable UID at a distance of approximately one foot and a slightly variable (a curve foot) in camera location, a change in large size of this residual UID would have resulted from a change in camera location of less than the above variable. has reviewed the quantitative results obtained by and has found usefulness in the has been done. Unfortunately, with two material variables very little objective information can be obtained except building a model of objective versus electronic area the concentration. So far that the original results would enable further that systematic study by the vidien the total per unit area work and economy of the area. It is anticipated that this study would concentrate on three cross; (1) H. sample consumption including office, diagnoses, and engines.
