This is a letter from H. Marshall Chadwell of the Central Intelligence Agency to physicist Samuel A. Goudsmit of Brookhaven National Laboratory, dated 7 April 1953. It answers Goudsmit's March 1953 request for the name and address of a civilian flying saucer group whose pamphlets he had seen in Chadwell's files in January. The reply names the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization, which publishes the APRO Bulletin, and Civilian Saucer Investigations in Los Angeles, and it thanks Goudsmit for his help that January.

Dear Chad: When I spent those few days in your section last January, the file we studied contained one, or perhaps two, parphlets from a crack-pot organization somewhere in the west. I am interested in following up this angle and, if possible, would like to get the name of that parphlet and the address so that I can get a few more sample copies. I hope you know what I am referring to. I was pleased to see Howard Osborn in New York. I an afraid that what I told him was a little too stale to be of any use.
