BROOKS, 19th District OSI, File No. 24-14, dtd 20 July 1949 SYNOPSIS The Civil Aeronautics Authority, San Francisco, California, disclosed that there are numerous air carriers in this area, of which a very small per cent file any type of schedule or clearance for flights. Weather report for the vicinity of Gold Beach, Oregon, not available in this area, but can be obtained from the Airways Communications Station, Medford, Oregon. No radar installations in the area of California or Oregon are near enough or powerful enough to have recorded unusual readings at Gold Beach, Oregon, on 24 May 1949. The Air Force Early Warning Radar Stations in the Bay Area reported nothing unidentified on 24 May 1949 for the Gold Beach, Oregon, area as these stations have insufficient range for that great a distance.
