A physicist, drawn into one of the field's most contested paper trails. In 1985 Stanton T. Friedman worked alongside Shandera and Moore. In declassified files at the National Archives, the three found the Cutler-Twining memo, dated July 14, 1954. It became part of the Majestic 12 (MJ-12) story. The documents went public after the London Observer ran the story on May 31, 1987. On June 24, Friedman defended them on ABC Nightline. His opponent in that debate was Philip Klass.
