Anders Liljegren was a Swedish researcher with AFU who turns up across several Nordic cases. In 1977 he was allowed to study the Swedish military files on the Scandinavian ghost fliers of the 1930s. No smoking gun emerged. In 1989 he and Clas Svahn published Domstensfallet, their study of the 1958 Domsten Encounter, which until then had ranked among Sweden's best observations. Three people said the men had admitted it was a bluff. He also weighed in on the Imjärvi skiers' case of 1970. He found Heinonen's later contact stories closer to sagas and myths, noting that no concrete evidence was ever produced.
