H.R. 5060, the UAP Whistleblower Protection Act, is a bill that Representatives Burchett and Luna introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on August 29, 2025. It was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the Armed Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The bill amends federal whistleblower laws to protect disclosures about the use of federal taxpayer funds to evaluate or research unidentified anomalous phenomenon material. The protections would cover civilian employees, FBI staff, the armed forces, defense and civilian contractors, and the intelligence community.
