This NICAP compilation holds twelve pages of FBI teletypes, airtels and memoranda from April and May 1964, exchanged between the Albuquerque office and the FBI Director. They cover the April 24, 1964 Socorro, New Mexico sighting, in which an oval object with a red insignia left four indentations and burned patches. A second report from La Madera involved a burning tank-shaped object. The FBI conducted no investigation of its own and kept liaison with the military, whose officers had no explanation for either incident.

STATES OBJECT WAS OVAL SHAPED, SIMILAR TO FOOTBALL, POSSIBLY TWENTY FEET LONG, AND HAD A RED INSIGNIA ABOUT THIRTY INCHES HIGH AND TWO FEET WIDE, CENTERED ON OBJECT. NO OTHER WITNESSES KNOWN TO NOISE, FLAME OR OBJECT. COMMANDER, STALLION RANGE CENTER, SOCORRO, N.M., ADVISED AT ONCE APRIL TWENTY FOUR AND IS HANDLING. MILITARY PRESENTLY CONDUCTING OPERATION KNOWN AS CLOUD GAP WHICH IS JOINT OPERATION DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND ARMY CONTROL, DISARMAMENT AGENCY IN SOUTHWEST STATES INCLUDING NEW MEXICO.
