This Defense Intelligence Agency routing slip forwards a September 1976 message from the US Defense Attache Office in Tehran reporting a UFO sighting on 19 September 1976. It describes citizen calls from Shemiran, the scramble of two Imperial Iranian Air Force F-4s, and instrument and communications failures as they approached a brilliant object. It also reports smaller objects emerging from the main one, one appearing to land, and a daylight helicopter search that detected a beeper signal.
