This Project Blue Book file combines a USAF record card with a fireball report. The record card lists two objects with a glowing white band that maneuvered erratically, and its conclusion reads as insufficient data. The attached report covers a fireball seen on September 12, 1952 at about 7:00 P.M. E.S.T., moving toward Flatwoods, West Virginia. It was brilliant greenish white and egg-shaped. The report estimates a visible flight of about 135 miles, an altitude of about 65 miles and a velocity near 27 miles per second, based on an observation point near Akron, Ohio.

FIREBALL - SEPTEMBER 12, 1952 - FLATWOODS , W Vc.
Direction: From about 30 $ ^{\circ} $ north of east to 30 $ ^{\circ} $ south of west.
Angle of Flight: About $ 3 0^{\circ} $ from the horizontal.
Duration: 5-6 seconds
Size: About twice the diameter of the moon at zenith, but believe the object looked larger than it actually was because it was so near the horizon.
Time: Approximately 7:00 P.M. E.S.T.
Color: Brilliant greenish white.
Shape: Egg-shaped with smaller radius in front. Bluish green at rear.
Distance: Assuming that it passed over Cumberland, Md. in the flight to Flatwoods, West Virginia, it passed within 160 miles of Akron.
Aro: Weg observed while passing through an arc of approximately 45.
Length of visible flight: Based on a distance of 160 miles from Alron and an arc of $ 4 5^{\circ} $ , the flight was observed for approximately 135 miles.
Atitude: first observed, the object was about 65 miles above the surface of the earth.
round Velocity 25 miles per second.
actual Velocity=27 miles per second.
