The Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued this unclassified annual report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena on 12 January 2023, as required by the FY 2022 National Defense Authorization Act. It counts 510 UAP reports as of 30 August 2022. Of the 366 reports added since the 2021 preliminary assessment, 163 were initially characterized as balloons, 26 as drones and 6 as clutter. The other 171 remain unexplained. The report also describes the creation of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office and finds no reported collisions or confirmed health effects.
