This Black Vault release contains two Department of the Navy FOIA response letters dated October 10, 2024, sent to John Greenewald. Both direct him to a redacted NASA briefing in the Navy's online Reading Room. Also included are September 2020 emails between the UAP Task Force and NASA's interagency liaison, and the UAPTF's redacted slide deck dated 31 August 2020. The slides describe the 2020 NDAA mandate, the effort to de-stigmatize reporting, partner agencies, and the 2004 Nimitz "Tic Tac" case.
UAP Task Force
• 2020 NDAA directed that Naval Intelligence lead an UAP Task Force
(UAPTF) to "collect, exploit, and analyze operational and scientific
and technical data of unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP)"
• UAP: Any aerial phenomenon that cannot immediately be identified.
• UAPs reported within the United States and around the world.
