This U.S. Navy FOIA email chain from June and July 2020 covers the handling of request DON-NAVY-2020-007330. That request sought records on the history and custody of videos of two F-18 Hornets tracking a UFO, which were cited in AFOSI file 3290517356125. NAWCAD records staff, N2N6's Joe Gradisher and several Navy judge advocates discuss which office should answer it, and staff identify the footage as the Gimbal video from VFA-11. Carrier Strike Group Eight, CVW-1 and VFA-11 found no responsive records, so a no-records response was prepared.

We (N2N6, ONI, and NAVAIR) are very familiar with the videos, having received numerous FOIA requests for them and all things UAP, UFO and AATIP. NAVAIR coordinated the release/posting with all of us. Now that the UFO authors have (b) (5) the videos themselves, they are now asking for documents that would have accompanied their transfer to ONI. This is based on assumption that there was a formal process in place that resulted in them being the custodians. There was not. ## (b) (5) We are now identifying to whom the FOIA requests for these requests should go.I have already forgotten from my CSG and AIRLANT days which entity would serve as the IDA, but we no it is not us.
