This Federal Aviation Administration record, part of a 2023 Department of Transportation release, is a preliminary FAA operations report on UFO/UAP activity on July 16, 2023. Memphis ARTCC said Southwest 549, a Boeing 737 flying from RSW to STL, reported a string of lights above the aircraft. The crew was northwest bound at FL380, 81 miles southeast of Memphis. No evasive action was taken, and the sighting was correlated with Starlink satellites.
